Measuring your space correctly is the most important step when ordering Pup-Grass®. Taking a few minutes to measure accurately helps minimize seams, reduce waste, and ensures your installation goes smoothly. Follow the steps below to calculate how much Pup-Grass® you need. The illustration explains how to calculate the square footage for the area you want to cover.
Understanding Grass Direction
Artificial grass is tufted in one direction, similar to carpet. This is called the nap. When installing artificial grass, the nap must all run in the same direction. If a piece is turned or installed sideways, it will reflect light differently and appear to be a different color.
Understand the 15-Foot Roll Width
Pup-Grass® is manufactured in fixed roll widths, with 15 feet being the standard width. This means your measurements must account for roll direction and seam placement—not just total square footage.
if your area is wider than 15 feet, seams will be required. Proper seam layout is critical and should always be planned before ordering material.
Minimize Seams for Best Results
- Plan roll direction before ordering
- Always keep seams running in the same direction
- Fewer seams generally mean a cleaner, more professional finish
